Throughout the past months, I’ve seen these Dividend Increase “Pay Raises” from our holdings. In alphabetical order:
AFG raised their dividend from $1.12 to $1.25 a share for an 11.61% increase.
AOS raised to us from $.48 to $.56 a share. That’s a 16.67% pay raise!
An old holding, CHD, raised from $.71 to .$76 for 7.04%. Yield to me is now 2.66%.
CSL has raised theirs from $1.20 to $1.40, for another 16.67% increase.
Long-time holding, CVS has increased from $1.70 to $2.00. There’s a $.30 raise for 17.65%!
HRL raised from $.58 to $.68. That $.10 is a 17.24% pay raise!
JKHY has raised from $1.12 to $1.24. for 10.71%
JNJ raised my income from $3.00 to $3.20 a share, a 6.67% increase. Yield to us is now 2.77%.
MA is now $.88, from $.76. That $.12 is a 15.79% increase.
NKE, from $.64 to $.72. This is 12.5% dividend growth.
ROL has raised to us from $.40 to $.46, for 15% dividend growth.
ROST is now up to $.64, from $.54 a share. That’s a $.10 raise for 18.52% growth!
SYK has produced an 11.84% increase by raising from $1.52 to $1.70 a share.
Old friend, TJX now pays $1.25 a share, up from $1.04, for a real 20.19% pay raise!
UGI, a gas utility, is at $.95, from $.91 a share. That $.04 is only a 4.4% increase. A recent buy, our yield is at 1.95%.
UNH increased her dividend from $2.00 to $2.50. That’s an even greater 25% raise!!!
This averages to 14.22% dividend growth over the past 12 months. By the “Rule of 72”, if they were to continue to do so, I could see our portfolio dividend income double in something like 5 years’ time! But, I will do so much quicker, as I reinvest those dividends, and add more cash, as we are able. The time required to double to drop to at least 4 years, perhaps fewer! We’re close to paying off our mortgage, which will free up considerable cash. That money will also begin to be deployed to our accounts, and invested in safe-dividend growers. We will then super-charge our investment strategy, very rapidly grow our income, and proceed to a financially secure retirement in just 6 to 8 more years time.
A most blessed and Happy Easter to you all,
Harold F Crowell
