Lowe’s Gave Us a 25% “Pay Raise”!

So, we got a minor move up Wednesday, but like some of the others recently, we popped at the open, then went pretty much sideways the rest of the day… if you weren’t already in, you weren’t likely to buy a thing and see any gain in it by the close, as the lift came with the market’s open.

And, because I didn’t write last night, but had to let it go until Thursday morning, I can already see that the world’s markets are all down, and our own futures are off some, too. So, today may not be a winner. It would be about time. It was one of those pretty much straight up kind of deals ever since Thursday the 19th of May. This is that time when we would typically enter the Summer Doldrums, and the market tends to decline some for much of the next 3 months or so. If the market moved only on the basis of technical measures reading at upper and lower extremes, they would be saying it’s time to head downward, as they have been stretched pretty tight.

You want a reminder as to why we invest this way; one of the very wisest ways to be an investor in common stock? Look no further than Lowe’s. LOW has raised its dividend to us. It has just gone from $1.12 a share, to $1.40 a share. That’s a $.28 a share dividend increase “Pay Raise,” and the math says… we just got a bump of 25%!!! Where else are you going to get an increase of your actual ‘take-home’ of anything like that? Twenty-Five Percent!

Running the regular search for the very best of the safe-dividend growers, like LOW, I have those same 22 again: NKE, HRL, JKHY, ROST, TJX, HD, EFX, SBUX, NOC, STZ, TSCO, EL, AOS, UNH, FDS, LOW, SYK, RAI, LMT, COST, CVS and NDAQ.

Looking for those that have been exhibiting technical price strength ’til now; I find these to be the strongest, and market leaders: JKHY, EFX, NOC, AOS, UNH, LOW, SYK, LMT and COST.

We’ve even 3 new highs Wednesday with: AOS, UNH and SYK!

The technical measures of market risk are reading high… I wouldn’t even expect that we could get a low-risk market entry buy signal for a few weeks. Patience.

If you took my advice, you did some buying 3 weeks ago, and with our Lowe’s dividend increase… you know your portfolio dividend income is relentlessly growing!

Here’s to your successful investing!
